Advice from a divorce mediator: take a break

On this very hot day I just wanted to share a message about taking a break. Taking time to recharge. About the importance of having capacity to deal with the challenges of divorce mediation. When people divorce the number of decisions, choices and concerns can be overwhelming. In the midst of chaos and uncertainty it is critical to give yourself time to recharge your capacity to deal with these challenges.

If you are going through divorce or separation then you want to be as prepared as you can be and you also know how difficult this can be. As a family mediator I sat down and thought about what do I wish my clients knew? what are the questions people ask me all the time? All of these questions form the basis of Map the Maze. Check out Map the Maze: Map the Maze is an online e course which you can follow at your own speed to prepare you for your divorce mediation. You’ll know:

  • what are the steps in mediation
  • how can I communicate more effectively
  • how can I negotiate more effectively
  • how can I manage my emotions
  • how do I move on and heal

Please note that the information contained in this video is based on my experience as a family mediator. None of the information is intended to be a substitute for professional legal, financial or mental health advice. Every case is different and you need to ensure that you have the professional independent advice you need to deal with your situation.
